Kubin uses the well-known printing leitmotif of the Alphabet book for a series of mordant caricatures. The titles are his own and are translated for each selection in the comments. Among his stock characters, such fantastic entities as death, the fool, the devil, and a host of creatures, real and hybrid, from the grotesque bestiary. .
